Disrupt Disinformation – Let’s Change the Story
The EIS has for some time been concerned with a rise in anti-equality and prejudicial narratives within society, and educational establishments. These harmful stories have real life impacts on our members, our learners, and our wider communities.
‘Disrupt Disinformation – Let’s Change the Story’ is the EIS’s new project to support members to address disinformation and prejudice, and promote equality, diversity and inclusion through effective social dialogue and strategic communication that fosters critical thinking and encourages political literacy.

Let's Change the Story is the EIS's social media campaign using the power of stories to convey six key messages showing how we can more effectively disrupt prejudicial disinformation affecting the whole school community, with evidence-based approaches rooted in empathy and strategic social dialogue.
These stories can be viewed here.
‘Let’s Change the Story in Your School’ is a new project collaboration by the EIS and TIE, drawing on each organisation’s expertise in tackling prejudicial disinformation and fostering constructive social dialogue for equality.

45-60 minute staff development session delivered by the Educational Institute of Scotland.
Prejudicial disinformation is becoming increasingly influential in our offline and online conversations, and we can often be concerned about ‘getting it wrong’ when seeking to take equity initiatives forward within this context. In this session, staff will learn about evidence-based good practice in addressing prejudicial narratives and navigating difficult conversations with adults in the school community.
Please note that staff development sessions will be delivered in clusters. When signing up, you will be added to a waitlist and informed when your cluster dates are available.
